My wife (as the ladies sizes had run out) and I both had a pair of these, and found them generous in fit, could accommodate thick socks, and soles have very good grip. Also, sturdy, and look like they will last years. Very easy to pull on and off. My wife thinks they are fab, and stylish! Different to usual black wellingtons.
My husband has large calves, so these are ideal. The shorter leg welly boot allows more movement and gives a greater comfort. I would recommend these boots.
